The Art Center of Chulalongkorn University is preparing a new exhibition "Desaturated"

Tuesday 27 January 2009 11:05
The Art Center of Chulalongkorn University is preparing a new exhibition to be opened in February. Curated by Connelly La Mar and Laura Cooper and supported by the British Council, "Desaturated" features videos, installations and photographs all focused on the notions of subtraction, vacancy and false referents in society. The exhibition's opening reception is on 4 February at 7pm.

Excerpt from press release:

“Desaturated” is a group show of seven contemporary British artists focused around ideas of subtraction, vacancy and false referents in society. These themes are teased out through video works, installations and photographs dealing with the use of colour and memory. Works hit on a variety of poignant themes specific to the UK, but with global resonance at this point in history, such as the use of colour in relations to simmering political tension in Northern Ireland, sexuality in contemporary fetishized British schoolgirl culture and using black voids to break up the floor space of the gallery.

In the meantime, artists, curators, students and art enthusiasts can still drop by the gallery as we have just received catalogues of many interesting exhibitions organised at Tang Contemporary Art. Information of Chinese contemporary art awaits you on our shelves.
