Mr. Rathasiri Kaikeaw, Regional Manager of Indochina, Trend Micro Inc., a global leader in Internet content security, stated “Today, the online threats tend to grow exponentially. According to the latest report by TrendLabs, malicious URLs increased from 1.5 billion in January to over 3.5 billion in June. Asia-Pacific had the most victims of malware infections. The top URLs blocked by Trend Micro were adult websites, as well as sites that hosted malicious variants such as IFRAME code, TROJ_AGENT, and JS_DLOADR.ATF.”

This service requires no additional installment and features One Time Scan to scan all viruses every time that customers login to the website.

Dr. Kitti Kosavisutte, Vice President and Head of Security Management, Bangkok Bank Public Co., Ltd., commented “Bangkok Bank gives precedence to security measures for online transactions of Bualuang iBanking as well as recommends the use of copyrighted OS and the installation of effective antivirus program. As we strive to protect our customers from online criminals, HouseCall Program from Trend Micro ideally serves our requirements with the capable and fast virus monitoring and cleaning. This enables our customers to execute online transactions with more confidence and security.”

Mr. Art Wichiencharoen, First Senior Vice President, KASIKORNBANK noted that, “Currently, there are over one million customers using K-Cyber Banking, so the bank always give highest priority to the security of online transactions. Apart from the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) used for verifying the account ownership for all important transactions, for which users are required to verify their identity with Username and Login Password as well as OTP (One Time Password) received via SMS on their registered mobile phone or from the Security Token Device, we also provide e-mail confirmation of all transactions with related details for transaction verification. Moreover, we also update the security tips on our website and enhance the system security on a regular basis. HouseCall Service by Trend Micro is another tool that enhances security on the customer’s side with Virus/Spyware Scanning function to provide a preliminary measure to counter online threats. The HouseCall service at www.kasikornbank.com will definitely help increase our customer's confidence.”

Dr. Anuchit Anuchitanukul, Senior Executive Vice President - Managing Director Electronic Banking and Cash Management Group Krung Thai Bank Public Co.,Ltd. added “The secured online banking transactions are among our top priorities so we install advanced security system with world-class standard such as Captcha for login to verify the user identity or TOP (Time out password) encryption to confirm required password and details for all risky transactions. On the other hand, the End to End encryption with SSL 128 bit will prevent data theft or modification. However, to ensure maximum security, user must be careful as well. Antivirus program is one of the important tools to monitor suspicious actions, especially HouseCall Program which will monitor viruses, Trojans or malware. In this case, customers can scan virus online before proceeding with any transactions without additional cost.”

Mrs. Arunporn Limskul, Executive Vice President of Siam Commercial Bank's CRM & Electronic Channels Division, noted that more and more customers were using SCB Easy Net service because of its convenient applications and simplicity. Internationally recognized security firm Entrust has certified the safety of the SCB Easy Net security system, which utilizes a 256-bit SSL Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for client account number protection, and SCB continuously develops its data security system to ensure the safety of online transactions and boost the confidence of its clients.

Another security measure the Bank has adopted is the use of a one-time password (OTP) system to enhance security for money transfers and bill payments. Under the system, clients will receive an OTP through SMS, which will automatically be sent to the phone number provided when an account was opened. Should clients wish to change the phone number, they must contact the branch where they opened the account in person.

The bank realizes the importance of providing its clients with knowledge and advice on how to use its Internet banking service safely and suggests links where they can download the world's leading virus scanning programs to boost their confidence in the SCB Easy Net service and ensure a happy experience.

Concluded Mr. Rathasiri, “For eBanking customers or interested persons can activate the HouseCall Service via any following website: www.bangkokbank.com, www.kasikornbank.com, www.ktb.co.th, www.scbeasy.com. All activation will be directly connected to Trend Micro system to update emerging threats from Trend Micro’s global database. This collaboration signifies the joint commitment of four Thai banks with leading eBanking system and Trend Micro, the leading provider of data security solution. Trend Micro is confident that the HouseCall Service will benefit and allow customers of all four banks to execute their online transaction more securely. Moreover, this will promote their awareness on online data protection and security.”

HouseCall Service will monitor and clean online viruses every time user login to the eBanking system. To ensure maximum security, user will be entitled to two-step protection. The first step will monitor user’s system throughout login time to monitor and clean viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware with “One time Scan.” The second step requires user to install additional antivirus program in their PCs or notebooks to prevent, monitor and eliminate any other threats. The duration of threat monitoring and cleaning will depend on internet connection quality and speed, hard disk size and amount of files to be monitored. The subsequent monitoring will consume less time.
