Demand for warehouse space heats up Two new logistics developments fully leased before completion

Demand for quality warehouse space in prime locations has surged in recent months according to Thailand’s leading logistics park company, TICON Logistics Park Co., Ltd (TPARK).

The company recently completed two new logistics developments, one at Amata Nakorn and the other in the Eastern Seaboard encompassing 73 rai with more than 55,000 sq metres of warehouse space.

Commenting on the lift in demand, TPARK General Manager Patan Somburanasin said both parks were fully tenanted before completion of construction.

“Many companies have been looking closely at their requirements in the wake of the floods last year,” said Mr Somburanasin.

“There has been high demand for quality warehouse space in prime locations, particularly from companies supporting key industries such as automotive parts and electronics. With our financial strength and our ‘Ready-Built’ warehouses we were able to move quickly and construct strategically located facilities in Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate and on the Eastern Seaboard where we are close to many manufacturers of automotive and electronic products.”

“Our speed to market has been a key factor in the quick uptake of warehouses. Tenants can start their operations inside our warehouse within 2 months where it can often take more than a year for a customer to seek to build for themselves.”

TPARK currently has 13 key locations from Ayutthaya to Chonburi serving customers from the automotive, electronics, retail and consumer products sectors as well as industrial logistics. The company has embarked on an extensive building programme with 50 warehouses totaling more than 180,000 square metres under construction. A key feature of TPARK’s strategy has been the extensive land bank of more than 2,700 rai it has acquired for development.

“With the land already secured, and a flexible site development programme in place, we are able to move very quickly to meet the requirements of industry,” said Mr Somburanasin.
