EPSON Secures Leading Position in Thailand’s Projector Market, Making Strong Debut in 2013 with the Launch of 33 New Product Lines to Tap All Market Segments

Epson Thailand reveals sales of projector during the last three quarters of 2012 with a growth of over 50%, defending its market leadership. It pinpoints 3LCD technology as a key strength behind successful development of a variety of products for all market segments. Epson lately launches over 30 new models as an aggressive marketing strategy in 2013.

Mr.Eiji Kato, Country Manager of Epson Thailand Co., Ltd. discloses about its performance of projector product line during the past 9 months. The company recorded an increase of 50% in sales, compared to the same period in 2011, or worth 500 Million Baht. This results in Epson’s total sales in 2012 ranking the No. 1 in the market. The significant factor is an increase in a number of projectors used as an instruction media in many educational institutions including school and university both in Bangkok and provinces. Meanwhile, demand from corporate customers has risen after the great floods.

“Epson projector this year will remain focusing on educational institution market which tends to grow, followed by corporate market as the market’s confidence in the economy and politics is stronger. Besides, participation in ASEAN Economic Community in 2015 will help stimulate every sector to become aware of IT development in the organization seriously. This time Epson launches a total of 33 new product lines to serve various and unique demand from each customer group.”

“Epson can release products with new special features to serve each market segment consecutively as Epson is the owner and developer of 3LCD technology which is regarded as the world’s best projection technology, producing brighter color, amazing detail and true-to-life image. We have also developed prominent features of usage including compatible connection for Apple devices,” Mr.Kato says.

Mr.Yunyong Muneemongkoltorn, General Manager of Epson (Thailand) Co., Ltd., discloses about marketing strategy for projector that Epson classifies market segment of projector by type of job and usage of demand. It categorizes product lines by the features that match customer’s need and are divided into 7 series. A wide range of product lines is the key. As Epson has a variety of products with unstoppable technology development, it can create new markets and maintain the satisfactory level of the existing customers who need technology upgrade to enhance working efficiency or to create home entertainment.

The 7 series of projector and the new products launched this time comprise:

1) Smart Series — which focuses on affordable price and ease of use. Launched are EB-W16 and EB-W16SK which can support 3D presentation in both active and passive technology

2) Ultra-Portable Series — with slim and sleek design and light weight for presentation on the move. The new model to be launched is EB-1700, the world’s slimmest 3LCD projector, together with another 4 models including EB-1751, EB-1761W, EB-1771W and EB-1776W

3) Short Throw Series — a short-throw projector for educational institution and large corporate customer. The new launches are 8 new models including EB-420, EB-425W, EB-430, EB-435W, EB-475Wi, EB-485Wi, EB-1400Wi and EB-1410Wi

4) Evolution Series — with all-in-one connection for all functions

5) Professional Series — a multi-function projector with high brightness and variety connectible port. The new launches are 8 models including EB-1840W, EB-1850W, EB-1860, EB-1870, EB-1880 which support USB drive presentation and allow user to control and monitor the status via network system. There are also EB-1945W, EB-1955 and EB-1965 coming with port compatible with Apple devices

6) High Performance Series — high brightness projector which supports outdoor projection like in conference room or museum and outdoor event. 8 new models being launched are EB-Z8450WU, EB-Z8450WUNL, EB-Z8350W, EB-Z8350WNL, EB-Z8150, EB-Z8150NL, EB-Z10000 and EB-Z10000NL with technology the same to home theatre and multi-screen edge-blending feature which allows multi projectors to jointly screen in a large image or VDO

7) Home Projector Series — launched with 3 3D projectors including EH-TW550, EH-TW6100 and EH-TW8100

Additionally, Epson launches a new product line of peripheral—document camera which can capture 3D image for classroom or lab. Epson ELPDC20 can display A3-size image with a 12x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom.
