KASIKORNBANK and the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) are issuing the KBank-Thai Chamber of Commerce co-branded credit card, the first and only card that offers both business and personal benefits, with special lending rates, discounts from provincial chambers of commerce, and rights to participate in TCC training courses. The Bank aims to issue 200,000 cards within five years.

Mr. Predee Daochai, KASIKORNBANK President, said KBank, TCC, the Board of Trade of Thailand (BoT) and provincial chambers of commerce have introduced the KBank-Thai Chamber of Commerce co-branded credit card, with features superior to those of other credit cards. It is the first and only card that combines cardholder privileges in both business and personal spending, offered by KBank as well as TCC members across the country.

A variety of discounts and privileges are available to the cardholders, including 10-20 percent discounts for seminar and training course fees, discounts for export certificate issuance fees, and free online seminars for business enhancement ahead of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) inception. Cardholders will be eligible for the Bank’s loans with special rates, including K-Klean Credit, K-Franchise Credit, K-Auto Finance (Refinance), and K-Home Loan.

The cardholders will also enjoy discounts from merchant members of provincial chambers of commerce nationwide along with privileges, discounts and special offers under more than 400 K-Credit Card promotional campaigns launched during the year. Eligible card applicants must be staff members, executives or owners of merchants which are members of TCC, BoT or provincial chambers of commerce, totaling more than 700,000 persons. KBank plans to issue approximately 200,000 of these co-branded cards within five years.

Mr. Predee added that TCC is the largest center of business networking, with members residing in all provinces, therefore being the country’s major economic driving force. Unlike other co-branded cards, cooperation between TCC and KBank does not involve only co-branded credit card issuance, but also a partnership to enhance the potential of TCC members and provide them benefits that will strengthen their businesses going forward. The Bank plans to introduce new privileges appropriate for TCC members in the future.

According to Mr. Isara Vongkusolkit, Chairman of TCC and BoT, the co-branded card is aimed to be used as a TCC identity card, representing a unique symbol and the unity of the entity, for its members nationwide. The credit card will be used for discounts at participating TCC member merchants, with more special privileges than those of other ordinary discount cards. He added that this card will not only help extend the TCC member network in terms of goods and services benefits, but also stimulate economic activity and promote tourism across the nation.

TCC will encourage its members – particularly those who are merchants and service providers under the “Khongdi Changwat” (“Outstanding Offerings of the Province”) program – to participate in the co-branded card program. The “Khongdi Changwat” program presented by provincial chambers of commerce introduces restaurants and great souvenirs of each province or nice restaurants which are members of provincial chambers of commerce. Therefore, apart from privileges from KBank, cardholders will also be offered benefits from these merchants. Moreover, TCC will provide additional discounts and privileges including a 10-20 percent discount for its training course fees and discounts for export certificate issuance fees. These benefits will help stimulate the economy and regional spending, in addition to existing stimulus attempts through the “Thailand Tourism Festival”.

Mr. Isara added that TCC was established in 1933 as a central organization for businesses, which provides advisory services for members and operators in the trade, industrial, agricultural, financial and service sectors. The entity also gives the government advice and recommendations for the benefit of the Thai economy and society. There are currently more than 70,000 TCC corporate members across the nation.
