Bangkok Bank Director and Executive Vice President Dr. Thaweelap Rittapirom said that Bangkok Bank is proud to have been entrusted by the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University to develop the "Be1st Smart Rabbit Siriraj card" – "a card for kind people". This is a new financial product that gives donations from cardholders to the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital. For every new card issued, Bangkok Bank will donate Baht 100 and Baht 50 towards the annual fee for every year after that. The bank will also donate 0.2% of the value of purchases using the cards to the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital. Cardholders also receive valuable benefits of up to Baht 200,000 in the event of loss of life due to an accident, plus medical expenses arising from an accident of up to Baht 5,000 per accident (unlimited number of accidents per year). The insurance provides coverage for accidents, murder and assaults, including motorcycle riders and passengers. Cardholders do not need to pay for their medical expenses in advance when treated in any of the 200 hospitals which are members of Bangkok Insurance's network.

"Be1st Smart Rabbit Siriraj card" is an all-in-one card that combines the functions of a debit, ATM and Rabbit card, providing great convenience for shopping, travelling on the BTS and withdrawing cash. Cardholders can feel safe with the card's highly secure and innovative EMV microchip system that protects money in their bank account when they withdraw cash at any of the more than 9,200 Bangkok Bank ATMs nationwide or shop at any store that accepts the VISA chip card.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa said the faculty is very pleased to have joined with Bangkok Bank in developing the "Be1st Smart Rabbit Siriraj card" which will encourage cardholders to make donations to support Siriraj Hospital's medical purposes. Each year the hospital has expenses of over Baht 1 billion which cover the purchase of medical supplies and equipment, the provision of scholarships to medical students and financial support for underprivileged patients, as well as ensuring that patients receive their entitlements under the universal healthcare and social security schemes. The hospital also helps with medical expenses for immigrants and the cost of sending patients home. This constant support is at the heart of the "Be1st Smart Rabbit Siriraj card" co-creation effort.

Those who wish to apply for a card and participate in the donation scheme for Siriraj Hospital must be between 16-65 years of age as identified on national ID cards or passports for foreigners.
