AXA Thailand General Insurance reinforces its commitment to safety by inviting valued business partners, customers, employees and media to the Skill Driving Experience Program. The two days session held at the Pathum Thani Speedway consisted of advanced training for safe driving and for handling unexpected situations on the road.

The Skill Driving Experience Program consisted of two sessions. During the morning session, a team of highly experienced instructors gave participants an introduction on driving behavior and safety. They explained the importance of adjusting the driver's seat position, how the powertrain can affect responsiveness, and the correct way to hold the steering wheel to ensure optimal vehicle control. The group also learned about the different breakdowns for front-wheel, rear-wheel and four-wheel drive vehicles, and were given valuable pointers to reduce the risk of an accident.

During the afternoon session, participants headed out to the speedway to put theory into practice. They went behind the wheel of Mercedes Benz, BMW and Subaru vehicles to brush up on their driving skills and participated in three track stations: Oversteering, Brakes and Emergency Handling, under the direct supervision of the instructors. Difficult situations were simulated, and behind-the-wheel exercises were implemented to give them a feel of actual circumstances where skills and maneuvers can help avoid accidents and save lives. Demonstrations and practice activities were played out to give the drivers confidence and teach them how to stay calm and in control of their vehicle even under pressure.

"This taught us various driving techniques and skills, so we can handle unexpected situations on the road. The experience emphasized how good driving behavior can contribute greatly to road safety. Unfortunately, Thailand's accident rate is very high, so I invite everyone to enhance their driving skills because when we are safe, others will be safe, too.
