"Thai National Parks PA" is designed for tourists who travel in national parks by KPI which is ready to assist and provide services for tourists that will increase to over 20 million in 2023, according to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation. KPI will facilitate and provide services to tourists including Hospital Care Service 24 hours, an emergency service which allows tourists to visit over 370 network hospitals nationwide for medical treatment or to make an online insurance claim at the company's website www.kpi.co.th," Suchavadee says.
The Safety Travel with Insurance Program began in 2017. To date there were more than 900,000 tourists at 55 national parks buying the insurance during the past 5 years. Mr. Ratchada Suriyakul Na Ayutthaya, Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, says that "Thai National Parks PA" is a significant and useful program as it can help protect Thai and foreign tourists. Throughout the past 5 years under Krungthai Panich Insurance Public Company Limited, tourists were well taken care of. The Department, therefore, has received very good feedback from tourists. In 2023, the Department expects the number of tourists traveling at national parks will soar by 100% from 2022 which had a total number of 11.5 million tourists.
In every national park area, unexpected accidents occur frequently to tourists. As a result, the safety of tourists is our top priority. Moreover, in the post COVID-19, there are several natural attractions that have been restored to be more beautiful and abundant as well as new tourist attractions have arisen including tourist attractions of various beliefs and faiths which gain more attention from tourists. The Department and Krungthai Panich Insurance, therefore, join hands to continue this insurance program," Mr. Ratchada adds.
Thai National Parks PA under "the Safety Travel with Insurance Program" is a protection that provides insurance coverage including medical expense and compensation in the event of an accident that results in death for insured aged 3-60 years old with an insured period of 7 days starting from the date of national park ticket stamp. Premium for Thai tourists is only 10 Baht for a total protection of up to 300,000 Baht. For foreign tourists, it is 40 Baht for a total protection of up to 400,000 Baht. They can visit more than 370 network hospitals nationwide for medical treatment.
