The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is hosting "Amazing Songkran 2023," taking Thailand's most-loved celebration to the next level with a series of international events in INTERNATIONAL AMAZING SPLASH 2023. Enjoy stunning international Songkran parades from five countries, including the famous Boryeong Mud Festival in Korea, the colorful Holi Festival in India, the fun Setsubun Festival in Japan, and the refreshing Xishuangbanna Songkran Festival in China. Sing and dance to your heart's content at Soi Chulalongkorn 5 (CU Centenary Park) in Bangkok between April 13 and 15, 2023, as Thai and international singers take turns rocking your world.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said, "Thailand's Songkran Festival is one of the 5F, which is Thailand's Soft Power." International tourists have long been drawn to F for Festival and Cultural Tourism, which reflect Thainess. "Songkran" has been named one of the three most important Asian festivals in 2021 by the International Festival and Events Association (IFEA). TAT wishes to take Thai festivals from local to global, with Songkran being our first choice. In conjunction with "Amazing Songkran 2023," we will host INTERNATIONAL AMAZING SPLASH 2023, showcasing globally famous festivals from other countries, between April 13 and 15, 2023, at Soi Chulalongkorn 5 (CU Centenary Park).

The event includes four major activities: 1) INTERNATIONAL CARAVAN presenting five festive processions on 13 April 2023. Thailand celebrates the Emerald Buddha seated on an elaborated wheel pavilion and a Songkran Goddess procession. Kimita Devi is this year's Songkran Goddess, dressed in topaz-decorated attire and armlets with a Jongkolnee water lily behind her ear—the devi feasts on Gluay-nam (banana). The goddess sits on a water buffalo, holding a Khanda in her right hand and a lute in her left. "Baifern - Pimchanok" will portray the goddess in the procession. / China woos the crowd with a colorful ethnic Xishuangbanna costume parade from Yunnan province. / India celebrates Holi with a colorful parade and a Bollywood dance. Japan showcases Setsubun with thundering drums, demon masks, bean throwing, stunning Torii, and cherry blossoms.
