Its milestone began with co-hosting Annual Meeting of Social Work Professional Council of Thailand on "Social Work Professional Identity Amidst Current and Emerging Challenge" where ATCSW made some recommendations and critical points to the Meeting and moderator team on 12 Jul 2023.
Moreover, ATCSW piloted a 3-day, module and classroom-based Social Protection Course held at MSDHS on 13-14, and 17 July 2023. The class was attended by social workers, social service workforce, and development professionals from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Spain/Myamar, US/Thailand whilst being trained by the facilitators from Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Italy Japan, Korea, Italy and Sweden.
Thereafter, the ATCSW hosted its Annual Governing Board Meeting 2023 approved all its work plans of FY 2023 (Oct 2023-Sep 2024) on 21 July 2023 via a hybrid combining both on-site meeting (attended by the Governing Board Members from the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand) and online meeting attended by the rest of ASEAN Member States. The Meeting emphasized on more achievements and further international / academic cooperation with stakeholders highlighting its first regional ASEAN Training Needs Assessment on social work - related community, promoting conferences and summits on social services and encourage the community to publish their quality writing on ASEAN Social Work Journal, and potentials on training courses, new concept notes, and the need to have a registered status as an ASEAN entity in a hosting country.
Followed by JICA-HQ visit by Mr. Norifumi on JICA-ATCSW's 3-year Technical Cooperation in 2023 -2026, The JICAvisit included visiting UNICEF - Regional Office, Half-way Home for Women in Pathum Thani, and Bueng Yi Tho Municipality, and Bangkok Shelter for Children and Families.
