The Chili Art group gathers Thai artists to showcase at Beijing Design Week 2023. Kung Ying Patama Leeswadtrakul, emphasized the role of art in connecting cultures and serving as a cultural ambassador to promote Thai culture to the world, thus attracting tourists back to Thailand as another soft power that appeals to international travelers. The organizers revealed that China has become a hub for the art business in Asia, with over 2 billion dollars in revenue in 2022.

Under the initiative of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to promote tourism with an emphasis on "Inno-Cultural for Sustainable Tourism," which combines creativity, innovation, and modern technology to convey Thai culture and way of life to promote sustainable tourism.

Recently, the Chili Art group organized a project involving Thai artists who participated in the invitation from the organizers of Beijing Design Week 2023 in China's Southeast Asia Art Carnival zone, held from September 29, 2023, to October 6, 2023. This collaboration aims to boost the potential of Thai art to a global audience and further establish Thai art as a soft power on the world stage. It is also a crucial gateway for Thai art to connect culture and directly promote tourism to Chinese and international tourists, with an expected influx of more than 3 million Chinese tourists to Thailand this year.

"We applaud this beneficial event for the art of our nation. We believe that the China Southeast Asia Art Carnival will be a significant bridge between artists and designers in Southeast Asia and Chinese audiences, serving as an entry point to the market for Chinese tourists. By showcasing art as a cultural ambassador, we aim to promote trade and tourism," said Mrs.Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Chairman of the board of directors for the Contemporary and Modern Art Promotion Foundation and the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC), Ministry of Culture.

Thai artists participating in this event include Worapol Nualla-ong, an outstanding contemporary artist known for his abstract art: Color Of Mind under the concept of "truth of the dharma," along with Gumsak Atipiboonsin, a prominent artist in the abstract and happiness art. Opas Chotiphantawanon presented a masterpiece series of 100 masks. Nitipol Laoyang, a representative of the Art Bridge Chiang Rai (ABCR), also joined in showcasing impressive works dedicated to the King Rama IX and the queen. ABCR founded by a group of artists in Chiang Rai and headed by Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat. Furthermore, legendary artists like Ajarn Suwit Jaipom, the president of the ABCR, who dedicated his entire life to painting portraits of King Rama IX, also contributed their artworks to this event. Additionally, Sa-ngiam Yarangsee and his artwork "The Beauty of Phu Chi Fah" and Thanongsak Pakwarn, young award-winning artists from Chiang Rai, collaborated with government agencies, private sectors, and art groups to prepare for the third Thailand Biennale Chiang Rai 2023, scheduled to take place later this year.

Beijing Design Week 2023 is organized by the private sector in collaboration with the Chinese Culture Development Association and the Chinese Culture Promotion Association at 751 D.PARK in Beijing.

The event features a diverse range of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, photography, new media art, contemporary art, furniture, limited-edition decorative items, jewelry, and vintage clothing, among others. During the Chinese National Day holiday season, which is an extended holiday, the event is expected to attract over 200,000 tourists and visitors. In 2022, China was considered the center of the Asian art market, with a total market value exceeding 2 billion dollars in the country.

Key official supporters who have contributed to the success of this art project as part of Thailand's soft power export include Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, One Enterprise Solutions Company Limited, Innova Interactive Studio, and TtPR Corporation Company Limited.
