Bangkok Bank joins PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited, or OR, to support PTT Stations in their transition to clean energy to reduce long-term costs and be environmentally friendly. The Bank has offered Bualuang Green Solar Energy loans with a credit of up to 100% on investment as well as special conditions to encourage customers to drive Thailand towards a low carbon society.

Bangkok Bank Senior Executive Vice President Siridej Aungudomsin said Bangkok Bank focuses on sustainable business and follows the ESG principles - Environmental, Social and Governance - by adhering to responsible lending practices and acting as a middleman to support investments for sustainable growth. As such, the Bank has recently launched the Green Credit program, which includes "Bualuang Green and Bualuang Green Solar Energy" loans to help businesses meet their environmental goals while playing a part in driving Thailand towards a low carbon society.

"As a trusted partner, the Bank supports customers, especially SME, who want to transition to clean energy by installing solar cells in their venues to reduce energy costs and increase competitiveness. Bualuang Green Solar Energy loans offer credit of up to 100% on their investment with special conditions to help lower costs, so customers can more easily make the transition to renewable energy.

Bangkok Bank has joined PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited to support PTT Stations as they transition to environmentally friendly service stations with the Bualuang Green Solar Energy loan program. The loans are for solar cell installation at stations to support owners who wish to reduce electricity costs and lower greenhouse gas emissions in line with current trends of a low carbon society in Thailand and overseas.

"This collaboration between Bangkok Bank and OR will help PTT station owners more quickly upgrade their stations to be environmentally friendly and in line with the Bank's goal to be a part of the sustainability movement and support Thailand to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050," said Mr. Siridej.

Mr. Piman Poolsri, Senior Executive Vice President, Oil Retail Business, PTT Oil and OR said that OR, as Thailand's leading gas station provider, has continuously focused on developing products and services to deliver a good experience to all customers and engage them in enhancing the quality of life for people across all levels of society. The "Solar Cell Installation on Gas Stations Project" or "Solar Rooftop for PTT Station" is one of the major environmental projects helping to transform more than 2,000 PTT Stations nationwide in the name of "PTT Station Fulfills Every Happiness" aimed at fulfilling happiness for the people, community and environment in a sustainable manner through the use of clean energy while reducing energy consumption that causes greenhouse gas emissions. This collaboration with Bangkok Bank will be a major push to help entrepreneurs to transition to clean energy more smoothly, with the aim of upgrading at least 200 gas stations by this year.

"We are very pleased that Bangkok Bank provides financial support to PTT Station operators to elevate them to becoming leaders of environmentally friendly service stations in line with OR's sustainable development goals as part of its G-Green strategy for a clean society. The framework aims at reducing greenhouse gas emissions to support a sustainably low-carbon society, to reach carbon neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050," said Mr. Piman.

Mr. Preecha Sittichai, Sittichai Oil and Retail Limited Partnership, managing partner of two PTT gas stations in Phetchabun, said, "The electricity costs at both gas stations significantly increased according to the FT value, approximately 120,000 baht per month, so I began to study ways to reduce the cost of electricity. When I saw that OR had partnered with Bangkok Bank for the "Solar Cell Installation on Gas Stations Project" to offer green solar loans, it was a good opportunity for me to install solar cells at the gas station which can help reduce 50% of electricity costs."

"After the solar cells were installed at my first gas station, they helped reduce electricity costs by up to 50% per month, with the support from Bangkok Bank being an important factor in my decision to install solar cells. Moreover, I have submitted a request to install solar cells at a second PTT Station. It will not only help reduce business expenses but also help my gas stations to become environmentally friendly while supporting the development and sustainable use of energy," said Mr. Preecha.
