SEOUL--Aug 22--PRNewswire Asia-AsiaNet--
LG-EDS will be first authorized systems integrator in Asia Pacific to Deploy Services based on Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group model
Cisco Systems, Inc., announced that LG-EDS Systems would offer services based on Cisco's Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) model in the country. Under the arrangement, LG-EDS will become the first systems integrator in Asia Pacific to conduct such Internet business consulting services with key Korean companies.
Using tools and techniques developed by Cisco's IBSG, LG-EDS will help companies create and implement Internet business strategies catered to their unique needs. These tools are based on Cisco's successful e-business models. LG-EDS will initially focus on the LG Group of companies as well as government agencies in Korea.
LG-EDS Systems, a joint venture between LG and EDS, is one of the largest systems integrators in Korea with over 5,000 consultants. The strategic relationship will significantly extend Cisco's ability to share its knowledge and expertise in developing sound Internet strategies for customers. Cisco's IBSG group provides tools, resources, and courseware in strategy development, net ready education, business and industry solutions knowledge and web foundation expertise.
LG-EDS Systems will offer "Net Readiness" workshops that help to establish a company's iQ or Internet Quotient. The iQ Net Readiness Scorecard, an analysis tool developed by Cisco IBSG, assesses an organization's ability to migrate to an Internet business model.
"We are very pleased to be working with LG-EDS Systems in Korea. They are one of the few comprehensive e-business consultancies in the country, with a broad service offering," said Greg Pelling, Managing Director, IBSG, Asia Pacific and Japan, Cisco Systems. "More importantly, they share Cisco's belief that Internet business solutions are a key competitive advantage for companies today."
Added Dae-Hoon Kim, Vice President of LG-EDS Systems: "This is truly a win-win situation for both companies as well as for Korea. Cisco's expertise and experience with the different components of e-business implementation and strategy will add significant value to our service portfolio. LG-EDS in turn will help spread this knowledge to a far bigger number of companies than Cisco can reach on their own."
The Cisco story is one of the most powerful tools available for proving the phenomenal results of embracing an Internet business model. Cisco has used Internet technology to transform and integrate its core processes and culture.
The results have been dramatic: total financial savings of US$1.4 billion annually, monthly online sales topping US$1 billion, greater than 82 per cent of support calls resolved over the Internet and dramatic increases in customer satisfaction.
Cisco IBSG's methodologies draw on this experience and are tailored to key industry segments such as Energy & Utilities, Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Public Sector, and Retail. In addition, Cisco IBSG has built core solutions expertise in areas such as Web Foundation, Customer Care, Supply Chain Management, Workforce Optimization, E-Finance, E-learning and E-communities.
