On Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, assigned the Division of Building and Facilities and the School of Engineering to dispatch a team of engineers to inspect structural damages caused by a recent earthquake. This mission was carried out in response to a request from the Phayao Office of Public Works and Town & Country Planning for assistance from the university.
The inspection focused on 20 schools and Dok Kham Tai Hospital in the eight affected districts of Phayao Province. The objective was to assess structural integrity, evaluate damages, and report findings to the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Committee. The results will guide future repair and reinforcement efforts to ensure the safety of these buildings for continued use.
