depa, under the directive of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), is moving full steam ahead with the ODOS Summer Camp project, offering 928 scholarships to empower Thai youth with digital skills and overseas life experience, opening doors to future opportunities in 12 countries worldwide. The program spans 6 weeks, and applications are now open via the "Tang Rat" government application. Following the Cabinet's approval of the 'ODOS Summer Camp' - a summer program of opportunities - the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) has been assigned by Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, to implement and drive the initiative. The goal is to create future opportunities for students nationwide by equipping them to adapt to the rapidly changing technological landscape.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), stated that ODOS Summer Camp is a 6-week short-term program that offers opportunities for high school students, vocational certificate students, first-year high vocational certificate students, and first-year university students who are no older than 19 years old as of the application opening date (March 24, 2025). Eligible applicants must reside in one of the 878 districts nationwide or 50 districts in Bangkok. The program provides participants with the chance to study and live abroad at leading universities in one of 12 destination countries—the United States, United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan. Participants will also gain digital skill development through direct exposure to world-class tech companies and receive inspiration for future academic and career paths. Applications are now open via the "Tang Rat" government application.

"depa believes that the ODOS Summer Camp will empower selected participants in three key areas: building resilience through six weeks of living abroad, strengthening knowledge by learning at top universities and experiencing global tech companies firsthand, and enhancing future opportunities by preparing for emerging technologies such as AI, 5G, and Quantum Computing," said the President and CEO of depa.

The ODOS Summer Camp will offer a total of 928 fully funded scholarships to selected participants. The Thai government will cover all expenses, including tuition fees, travel costs, health and life insurance, accommodation, and daily living expenses—at the same rate provided to other government scholarship recipients. depa began implementation immediately upon the opening of applications, and over 91,000 individuals have already accessed the system and are in the process of preparing their documents. The program is intended to be ongoing, with applications for the second round expected to open soon.

Interested youth can now apply for the ODOS Summer Camp through the "Tang Rat" government application. The selection process includes English language and digital skills assessments, a random draw for country placement, and an interview. The list of selected participants will be announced in August.
