At the event, Mr. Kamthorn Wehan, Deputy Governor of Rayong Province said "SPRC Badminton Championships 2025 is one of the major national projects that provide well-rounded benefits including health promotion, sport skill development and safe and secured space for youths to creatively spend their leisure time and stay away from drugs. Additionally, this sport project would play a part in driving Rayong economy through promoting local tourism and generating community earnings particularly selling local goods and services during the tournaments."
Mr. Pongkorn Chochuwong, Executive Vice President, Operational Excellence of SPRC added "The SPRC Badminton Championships 2025 tournament was organized for the 2nd consecutive year as SPRC emphasizes on promoting sport among youths and general public as well as providing opportunities for badminton enthusiasts to hone their skill while enhancing their sense of discipline, sportsmanship and inspiration to compete in national and international arenas. The winners in this tournament will receive trophies, certificates and scholarship to encourage their development for the future."
This championship event attracted overwhelming interests with over 1,000 badminton players nationwide enrolled in the tournament of over 1,250 matches divided into singles (men's and women's), doubles (men's and women's) and mixed doubles in 7-age categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 and Open with total 416 prizes worth over THB. 783,000.
Moreover, the event also promotes the participation of local communities showcasing local exhibitors and vendors by offering space and opportunity for local business operators to generate incomes and boost grassroot economy and enhance tourism in Rayong province.
