First Time for Thailand's Convention Centers! QSNCC Sets a New Sustainability Standard for the MICE Industry with a Real-Time Carbon Footprint Tracking Dashboard

In celebration of World Environment Day, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) proudly becomes the first convention center in Thailand to introduce a Real-Time Carbon Footprint Tracking Dashboard for MICE events. This groundbreaking innovation will be piloted at two major upcoming events—Asia Sustainable Energy Week 2025 and the International Engineering Expo 2025—taking place this July. QSNCC aims to set a new benchmark for sustainable events and raise Thailand's MICE industry to international standards.

The dashboard, developed by AltoTech Global Co., Ltd., is part of the Winnovation program supported by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). It is a smart digital platform that uses real-time data to calculate greenhouse gas emissions from various sources, such as energy usage, food consumption, packaging, and participant travel. This enables both event organizers and attendees to clearly understand the environmental impact of their activities—instantly and transparently. The insights can then be used to plan effective carbon reduction or offset strategies, paving the way toward truly carbon-neutral events.

Mr. Surapol Utintu, CEO of QSNCC, stated: "As a leader in sustainability, QSNCC is committed to advancing green initiatives in every dimension. We began by adopting ISO 14064-1 and Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) standards to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions. Building on this foundation, we are now implementing event-specific carbon footprint assessments (CFE) in a more systematic way. The launch of the Real-Time Carbon Footprint Tracking Dashboard marks a significant milestone in establishing a strong foundation for truly sustainable and environmentally friendly events. We aim for 'Asia Sustainable Energy Week 2025' and 'the International Engineering Expo 2025' to serve as models for other events looking to raise their sustainability standards—setting a new benchmark for Thailand's MICE industry."

Mrs. Jaruwan Suwannasat, Executive Advisor (Chief Information Officer - CIO) at TCEB, commented: "TCEB is thrilled to see Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and AltoTech Global team up through our MICE Winnovation program. This partnership represents a game-changing approach to environmental responsibility for Thailand's MICE industry, bringing in AltoTech Global's Real-Time Carbon Dashboard to track and measure operations within the convention center's event halls with real, quantifiable results of sustainable performance. This perfectly aligns with TCEB's strategy to drive innovation and sustainability forward, giving Thailand's MICE sector a competitive edge and a unique value proposition on the global stage."

Mr. Sanchai Noombunnam, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Thailand, organizer of Asia Sustainable Energy Week 2025, added:"We truly appreciate the support and collaboration from QSNCC and TCEB in making this initiative a reality. Having access to real-time carbon footprint data helps us better understand and appreciate the value of sustainable event practices. It also opens up structured pathways for reducing and offsetting emissions. This effort aligns perfectly with our theme for this year:'Empowering Digital Transformation in Sustainable Energy Towards Net Zero' This is a meaningful step forward in creating genuinely eco-friendly events, and we hope this model will inspire many more events to follow."

"Looking ahead, QSNCC plans to include the Real-Time Carbon Footprint Tracking Dashboard as a special benefit in its Loyalty Program, allowing members to redeem points for access to the service. This will be another way to promote eco-conscious event planning and elevate Thailand's MICE industry to new sustainability heights", Mr. Surapol concluded.
