During the panel discussion, Ms. Kluaymai Nuchniyom, General Manager of Syngenta Crop Protection Co., Ltd., underscored Syngenta's pivotal role and unwavering commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture. " Syngenta stands as a global leader in agricultural science and technology," Ms. Kluaymai stated. "For us, sustainability is not an add-on—it is deeply embedded in everything we do. This commitment spans from initial product research and development all the way to our direct engagement with farmers in the field." She added, "In Thailand, we've actively partnered with farmers for over 60 years, delivering comprehensive support through innovative products, local expertise, established manufacturing facilities, and cutting-edge research centers within the country. This long-standing collaboration truly reflects our deep-rooted commitment to elevating Thai agriculture sustainably and efficiently."

The escalating impacts of climate change are profoundly affecting agriculture globally, disproportionately impacting smallholder farmers who frequently lack access to essential technology and tools. Consequently, the transition to a sustainable agricultural system is no longer merely an option but an urgent imperative. Ms. Kluaymai emphasized the critical need to accelerate collaboration across all sectors. This includes fostering the development of biological innovations, promoting the adoption of environmentally friendly crop protection approaches, and supporting integrated farming systems. These initiatives are crucial mechanisms for enhancing food security and sustainably increasing farmers' incomes over the long term.

"Sustainability is at the core of our business operations, especially in Thailand, where agriculture serves as a vital foundation for both livelihoods and exports," stated Ms. Kluaymai. "We are dedicated to developing tangible scientific solutions that empower farmers to effectively navigate global challenges. This commitment includes innovating drought-tolerant seeds with enhanced nutritional value and creating biostimulants that boost plant resilience under environmental stress conditions."

To support farmers in their sustainability journey, Syngenta provides access to advanced technologies, including its Cropwise(R) Sustainability digital platform, which integrates satellite imagery, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. This empowers farmers to precisely plan and manage their operations, from monitoring diseases and pests to optimizing fertilizer and water use, and selecting appropriate crop varieties. Additionally, Syngenta utilizes the Cool Farm Tool to track and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

" Agriculture today is about more than just producing food," Ms. Kluaymai concluded. " It is central to tackling climate change, preserving biodiversity, ensuring food safety, and enhancing the quality of life in rural communities. We must accelerate efforts to equip smallholder farmers with the right tools and knowledge, while simultaneously cultivating a culture of innovation that seamlessly links sustainability with food safety across every stage of the food chain. This can only be achieved through collaboration from all sectors, especially informed consumers, who are a powerful force in driving a food system that is sustainable, safe, and truly prepared for future challenges."
