Founded in 2000, Gulftex began as a humble producer of cotton gloves. Under the leadership of founder and CEO Sermsak Wongchai, the company has grown into a pioneering force in the PPE industry, driven by its mission: "To help people work safely, comfortably, and efficiently."
A major milestone in its journey was the launch of MICROTEX, Thailand's first seamless knitted gloves made from special lint-free yarn—redefining hygiene and safety standards. Looking ahead, Gulftex is preparing for a future stock market listing, investing in solar rooftops, transitioning its vehicle fleet to electric vehicles (EVs), and expanding its Green Products line to support a circular economy model.
"We are more than just a manufacturer—we are a driver of the future of safety and sustainability," said Mr. Sermsak.
The company has also forged strategic partnerships with global leaders including Ansell (2007), TOWA Japan (2009), and DuPont (2011), earning exclusive rights to produce Kevlar(R) gloves and sleeves. Gulftex notably became the world's first manufacturer of impact-resistant gloves for HexArmor in 2017. Its achievements have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the SEM Award (3 consecutive years) and the Bai Po Business Awards by Sasin (2018).
Driving its sustainability agenda is Kanokwan Wongchai, the company's dynamic Marketing Manager. Inspired by brands like Patagonia, she has integrated circular economy principles into the company's operations, aiming for Net Zero emissions by 2065 through three key strategies:
- Human capital development with ESG and Net Zero training,
- Investment in Green Infrastructure via solar power and digital systems,
- Innovation of eco-friendly products for the modern consumer.
"We are proud to be the first glove manufacturer in Thailand certified with the Carbon Footprint Reduction label by TGO," she said. Gulftex has also implemented a glove recycling system, reducing both costs and waste, while earning SMETA compliance, affirming its commitment to labor, social, and environmental responsibility.
From June 9-11, Gulftex participated in Thailand Safe@Work 2025 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, where it received an award from Labour Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn. The event, held under the theme "Building a Culture of Safety for a Sustainable Thai Society," was attended by government officials, business leaders, and labor representatives nationwide.
Further cementing its social responsibility, Gulftex recently donated THB 250,000 worth of PPE—including 25 flame-resistant suits and 25 pairs of Stanley impact gloves—to the Ruamkatanyu Foundation. The donation supported emergency response teams during the recent collapse of the State Audit Office building, with equipment playing a crucial role in rescue and recovery operations.
"We are committed to social responsibility and fully support rescue missions to ensure they are carried out safely and effectively," Ms. Kanokwan affirmed.
