Mr. Saroj Putthammawong, Chief Operating Officer - Value Added Products of GC, stated that this partnership stems from the shared vision of both companies, who firmly believe that sustainability and innovation are key drivers for long-term growth. This collaboration aims to elevate the standards of plastic research and product development, with a strong focus on minimizing environmental impact at every stage—from material selection and production processes to usage and end-of-life management—creating a truly functional circular economy. This will be realized through joint studies and pilot projects driven by three core focus areas that will help steer industry-wide change:

  1. Design for Recyclability - Co-developing packaging that aligns with customers' recycling demands and global regulatory trends by minimizing the use of complex multi-materials that are difficult to manage at end-of-life.
  2. Productivity & Efficiency - Enhancing production processes to boost efficiency, reduce waste and unnecessary costs, and improve product and service quality.
  3. Circular Economy - Translating the principles of the circular economy into practical action through product design, material selection, waste management, and influencing sustainable consumer behaviors.

Mr. Somsak Borrisuttanakul, Chairman of the Executive Committee of TPBI Group, added that ever since GC began its production operations, TPBI Group's relationship with GC has grown beyond that of a typical "business partner" to become a "co-innovator" in driving sustainability through various joint innovation projects. Both companies have tested, learned, and co-developed practical solutions, resulting in new knowledge and solutions that balance environmental and commercial needs. This MOU is not merely the start of a new collaboration, but rather a fusion of forces and an expansion of an existing partnership to make it more systematic, flexible, and unconstrained in creative thinking. It will also enable teams from TPBI and its subsidiary, T.A.K. Packaging, to work closely with GC under a robust framework. He expressed confidence that this collaboration will lead to tangible innovation outcomes in product development and sustainable plastic management—enhancing the quality of plastic products to meet the demands of the modern world while boosting Thailand's competitiveness on the global stage.

This partnership marks another significant milestone for GC and TPBI Group as they continue to drive positive changes with a commitment to advancing the industry through research and development of innovative plastics and chemicals that not only meet current needs but also propel the transition to future-ready materials aligned with megatrends—ensuring superior quality, efficient resource use, and minimal environmental impact. Together, this next step will help elevate the packaging industry towards a truly sustainable future.
