JIVE by Toi Ungkavatanapong

VS Gallery proudly presents JIVE, an art exhibition by Toi Ungkavatanapong, a visual art alchemist who has excelled in Thai contemporary art scene for over four decades. In this show, what physically exists and what does not both matters. Toi designs the relationship between his sculptures and empty space to provoke audience to interpret freely about what they see, based on their personal experiences. JIVE portrays the difficulty people nowadays are facing, both in real world and virtual one. We are challenged constantly to rush in conclusion about everything, or take side on any arguments. Given rapid change and limited information, we are forced by society to believe in someone or something. And when there is ambiguity and doubt in our mind, people tempts to seek comfort by starting to "JIVE."
