Maison JE Bangkok & L Gallery Organize "COLOR PULSE" Exhibition to Showcase Power of Color and Rhythm of Emotions through the Works of 6 Contemporary Korean Artists

Maison JE Bangkok, in collaboration with L Gallery, will be hosting COLOR PULSE, a group exhibition featuring six contemporary Korean artists 2Myoung, Im Solji, Kim Ok-Jin, Lee Jaeyual, Suzy Q, and Qwaya, between September 5 and October 12, 2025.

This event presents color as the emotional language and rhythm through the personal narratives of the artists, each with distinct palettes and forms.

On display are 2Myoung's sculptures that intertwine imagination with toys and his signature, Im Solji's brightly colored fantasy worlds that are reminiscent of fairy tales, Kim Ok-Jin's artworks that underline silence and reflect the solitude of urban life, Lee Jaeyual's mysterious landscapes that bridge traditional and contemporary art, Suzy Q's exploration of identity through memories embodied in her character Moo, and Qwaya's oil paintings that evoke profound serenity in teal tone.

"COLOR PULSE transcends mere visual expression, as its 'color' represent the rhythm of emotions, the very force that connects people together. Although each artist's creative approach is entirely distinct, their colors truly harmonize like heartbeats in sync, sending subtle vibrations that deeply resonate with viewers' souls and inviting everyone to perceive and remember colors in a new, different way.

Among these colors, one may quietly draw you into the artists' imaginative worlds without you even realizing it. Just let color lead the way - to discover what lies within, and to awaken a feeling that's been waiting to pulse again…"

About the Artists

2Myoung - This artist conveys emotions through forms and shapes, seamlessly blending sculptures, toys, and symbolic materials. His work evokes the purity and energy of childhood under the "playtime's not over!" concept - which communicates about self-exploration, transformation, and the enduring innocence. His hybrid resin figures, fragile yet resilient, embody a fusion of fine art, collectible design, and storytelling through the emotional perspectives of the artist himself. 2Myoung, now a rising star in Korea's art toy and contemporary sculpture scene, is also making his name on the international stage.

Im Solji - This female artist conjures fantastical worlds where plants, animals, and humans coexist in harmony. Her colorful works spur the feelings that flow like endless melodies and create memories akin to bedtime stories read aloud by a mother. Inspired by quiet nights and profound feelings, she uses light, color, and patterns to communicate about memories and imagination, filling empty spaces with subtle emotions. Her art invites viewers to explore their inner feelings, existing in a realm that lies delicately between reality and dreams.

Kim Ok-Jin - Just like silent poems, her works beautifully exude intense solitude and question the emptiness within human relationships. Her quiet swimming pools and solitary high-rise apartment scenes powerfully evoke the presence of "void" and "disconnection," capturing the spirit of her subjects. As Kim Ok-Jin is emerging as one of South Korea's most prominent artists, her works are highly sought after by collectors and continue to achieve strong results at auctions.

Lee Jaeyual - From a distance, Lee Jaeyual's works resemble traditional Korean paintings. But as viewers draw closer, striking contemporary elements emerge - acrylics on colorful paper as well as clouds that conjure a mysterious atmosphere in the background. His compositions bring audiences into a surreal realm. Influenced by both Western and Eastern styles, his mixed media techniques yield distinctive, beautiful, and tranquil results that encourage contemplation on the relationship between humans and nature.

Suzy Q - Her works have graced international stages before, reflecting memories, intense emotions and childhood identity. At the heart of her universe is "Moo," a recurring character who guides viewers through LIMBO—a dreamlike realm where fading memories transform into symbolic rubber ducks. Her work draws inspiration from animation, blending gentle Eastern linework with

unconventional elements. This fusion invites audiences to confront incomplete feelings, marking not just mere nostalgia but also a rekindling of dormant emotions.

Qwaya - The name of the artist means "to pass through the night," reflecting his tranquility and search for meaning. Qwaya captures thoughts and fragments of emotion through teal-toned oil paintings, often depicting characters with closed eyes or averted gazes. His works are gentle yet emotionally powerful, inviting viewers to explore their inner selves and reflect on solitude, fleeting relationships, and emotional volatility. Calm but profound, Qwaya has also designed album covers for the renowned South Korean indie band Jannabi.

Don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in an artistic experience from a fresh perspective. Let color guide you, as you explore meanings, stories, and emotions hidden in the works of six Korean artists at COLOR PULSE. This exhibition will run from September 5 to October 12, 2025 at Maison JE Bangkok.
