Dr.Chaichana Mitrpant, Executive Director of ETDA, said that, for the second consecutive year, ETDA, through the AI Governance Center (AIGC), is organizing AI Governance Week to demonstrate Thailand's commitment and readiness in AI governance. AI Governance Week 2026 (AIGW 2026) reflects the country's tangible progress in this area. Beyond serving as a platform for policy dialogue, the event will connect knowledge, tools, regulatory approaches, testing mechanisms, and international partnerships to accelerate the practical adoption of AI Governance across organizations and society.
"Effective AI Governance is essential to building trust as AI increasingly shapes decision-making, public services, and critical systems. The goal is not to constrain innovation, but to ensure that it develops safely, responsibly, and in line with international standards. AIGW 2026 marks another important milestone in demonstrating Thailand's readiness and strengthening its role as a regional hub for Responsible AI and AI Governance," said Dr. Chaichana.
The event will take place from June 29 to July 3, 2026. Over five days, participants will gain a comprehensive view of AI Governance, covering global policy developments and Thailand's plan to establish the AI Governance Practice Center (AIGPC) to expand the role of the AI Governance Center (AIGC) at the regional level. The programme will also address AI literacy and awareness for educators and youth, the future of AI regulation and AI for justice, and AI safety and Red Teaming for real-world applications.
