The Digital Economy Promotion Agency together with 8 partners joined the press conference on the launch of "Smart Economy Showcase Project" by promoting business entrepreneurs in Lat Phrao and Pathum Wan by adopting 12 digital technologies from selected Thai digital startups to enhance business capability through On Ground and On Cloud activities, awareness raising for target groups and the public. It is expected to be over 1,000 business matching with over 30 million baht of business value.

Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency or "depa", shares that to promote and support Thai entrepreneurs to adopt digital innovation and technology is to increase business capability for a sustainable growth. Accordingly, depa collaborates with 8 partners which consist of Department of City Planning and Urban Development, Chatuchak District Office District, The Office of SMEs Promotion, The Federation of Thai Industries, The Federation of Thai SMEs, Government Savings Bank, Siam Commercial Bank and Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand, join for the launch of Smart Economy Showcase Project in the areas of Lat Phrao district at the Union Mall, and Pathum Wan district at the Siam Square One on March 20th. The activities at both places will be conducted in On Ground and On Cloud platforms. This is to create awareness to target groups and the public that are interested in living with the New Normal way of life.

Dr. Nuttapon  also shares that the project will have entrepreneurs in all business sectors apply 12 digital technologies developed by digital startups which depa had selected from over 50 startups to improve business operation of entrepreneurs in the pilot areas. On Ground activities will be provided to urge about benefits of digital technologies, for examples, special talks from business experts, showcases of how to apply digital technology to business and new normal life, opportunities to meet and consult with entrepreneurs and digital startups, as well as chances of digital tools try on.

In addition, there are business matching sessions organized by Zipevent On Cloud platform, "depa Business Matching on Cloud" activity that offers various promotions for entrepreneurs which can schedule their business talks with their interested digital startups until April 23rd ( www.zipeventapp.com/…oncloud ). The platform is a channel that facilitates all stakeholders to be able to have greater time management and take intensive care to prevent the risk of COVID-19.

"All activities provided in the Smart Economy Showcase Project are crucial factors in developing Smart Economy Areas in new normal situation. The project is also an essential key to drive Thailand economy to have a closer step to a stable digital economy. depa expects that there will be more than 1,000 business-matching which would generate over 30 million Baht", depa CEO/President said.

In the same way, Mr. Chatchai Khunpitiluck, Senior Executive Vice President (Digital Economy Unit), depa states that besides the work integration of related teams, the Smart Economy Showcase Project also emphasizes on human capability development, which allows upskilling on digital technology to build digital skilled human resources in industrial sector (Smart People). This relates to having businesses gear towards Smart City as well as expanding market reach in the region. The capability development activity will be provided through Digital Transformation Courses, which are free with certificate. The courses cover content of business pain points in several angles, including food, agriculture, commercial, and service. In addition, the courses will also bring out export approach as a case example to point out the importance of the applying digital technology to drive businesses. It is expected to have over 20,000 people to access this online platform.
