Driven by its commitment to making it easy to do business anywhere, Alibaba.com, a leading business-to-business (B2B) platform for global trade, will be organizing an online summit - its second one in Thailand - aimed at helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) here rebound from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The "2021 Alibaba.com Thailand International B2B Trade Summit" will feature speakers from Alibaba.com and the Department of International Trade Promotion, as well as Thai SMEs that have experienced success in global online trade. It will be held online via live-streaming from 2:00pm to 3:00pm local Bangkok time on May 13, 2021.

Stephen Kuo, Head of Asia Pacific for Alibaba.com, will share key observations about the global trade sector since the onset of Covid-19, and Alibaba.com's approach to helping SMEs thrive amidst the current landscape. He will be joined by Samantha Tng, Thailand Business Operations and Strategy Lead of Alibaba.com, who will provide insights into the performance of Thai suppliers on Alibaba.com during the pandemic and where opportunities for Thai products lie; as well as Charles Rogers, Lead Researcher at Alibaba.com, who will share about the latest sourcing trends and tips for Thai suppliers on enhancing their appeal to overseas buyers.

"Just as how consumers have get used to e-commerce for their day-to-day shopping, international buyers are looking online too. Now is a critical and opportune time for SMEs that have previously been counting heavily on offline channels to be onboard with e-commerce to stay relevant and competitive. We hope this summit will offer useful advice on B2B e-commerce to help Thai SMEs navigate the uncertain times ahead and emerge stronger," said Stephen Kuo, Head of Asia Pacific for Alibaba.com.

The online summit will also consist of a panel session to further discuss challenges and opportunities of doing business on Alibaba.com and support provided by the platform and the Thai government to facilitate Thai SMEs' success online. Speakers of the panel session will include Chanthapat Panjamanond, Director of Office of Digital Commerce Market, Department of International Trade Promotion, Samantha Tng of Alibaba.com, as well as two of Alibaba.com's successful supplier members in Thailand.
