To comply with quarantine guidelines, only minimum number of people, including executives of Unicity International and distributors of Unicity Korea, attended the event. Unicity International CEO and Chairman Stewart Hughes visited Korea for the first time in 5 years to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony. Moreover, Stewart Hughes said "I am planning a variety of investments for the infinite development of Unicity. I hope the company is able to develop better products and achieve a better world together."
The new Unicity Global Manufacturing (UGM) factory will feature over 20,000m2 of floorspace and be built in the Seo-gu district of Incheon. The layout for the new site will be over 10 times the size of the current factory located in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do and is anticipated to produce more than one billion servings annually upon completion. Targeting to commence operations at the new factory in 2023, the corporation has revealed plans to expand the overall market by exporting products globally through the additional capacity being brought online with this factory.
As the one in charge of project development for the new Unicity Global Manufacturing factory, Unicity International Vice President Devon Knowles said "with the innovative design of this factory, we are able to utilize Unicity's intellectual property and technical expertise to implement systems for management of the entire production process from start to finish, from manufacturing to delivery" and "we will do our best to produce great products with top-of-the-line equipment and Unicity's manufacturing technology to fall in line with the rapidly changing trends of today."
Unicity International President Christopher Kim also attended the groundbreaking ceremony and said "it is anticipated that smooth supply and demand of products without interruptions, even in uncertain situations, will be made possible through the establishment of the Unicity Global Manufacturing factory" and congratulated by saying "it is hoped that we will be able to achieve our goal and mission of 'Make Life Better' through the establishment of the factory and production of great products."
