The new Porsche Taycan GTS makes its first regional appearance at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show 2022 - the premiere motor show in South East Asia - taking place from 21 March to 3 April 2022 at the Challenger Hall 1-3 in Muang Thong Thani.

The new model complements a spectacular 9-car line-up from Porsche Thailand, represented by AAS Auto Service Co. Ltd. for the show. Other highlight models such as the 911 GTS and Cayenne Coupe will also be featured on the stand.

Porsche's impressive product line-up reflects the show's spirit of innovation and resilience, as the iconic German sports car brand reports a strong performance in 2021 with region-leading performance and strong electrification segment shares.

Year-on-year sales increased by 105% in 2021 in Thailand, led by strong demand for Porsche's electrified products. BEV and PHEV models made up more than 85% of total sales, and one in every four cars sold in the Land of Smiles were fully electric.

Pioneering in the field of electromobility, Porsche Thailand previously announced the expansion of the first cross-border high-performance charging (HPC) network in South East Asia together with Shell. As a result of this initiative, what was once a vision - cross-border emission-free travel from Bangkok to Malaysia and Singapore - will soon be a reality.

Porsche Thailand is also growing connections with new audiences who are driven by dreams, with iconic events like Das Treffen, the region's most vibrant Porsche festival. The company is also exploring themes important to youth with the Wonderfruit festival and SCOPES, and bringing the brand closer to the people at highly central locations like Porsche Studio Bangkok ICONSIAM in the heart of the city centre.

"2021 presented many challenges with the new normal, and we had to pivot around numerous obstacles presented by external circumstances," said Mr. Peter Rohwer, Managing Director of Porsche Thailand. "But thanks to the strong demand from our ever-passionate Porsche fans here in Thailand, and close collaboration across the value chain, we were able to finish with this strong result."

The new Taycan GTS: Sporty sweet spot in the Taycan range
Perfectly situated between the Taycan 4S and the Taycan Turbo, the sporty and soulful Taycan GTS variant boasts a range of up to 504 km (WLTP), making it the first Taycan to break the 500-km range mark.

The new model also clearly differentiates itself from its design: a Sports Design Package brings a distinctive trim for the front, rear and side skirts, and the trims of the daytime running light elements in the LED main headlights are finished in Matt Black with 3D track graphics.

For the first time, a panoramic roof equipped with "Sunshine Control" technology is optional on the new Taycan GTS. Divided into nine segments, each individually controllable, the new roof is capable of reducing glare to varying degrees. Inside, numerous black Race-Tex features and brushed aluminium trims accentuate its elegant yet dynamic character.

Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), specifically adapted to the Taycan GTS, elevates the dynamism of the model by providing improved grip and greater comfort, two seemingly mutually exclusive attributes. This is coupled by an optional rear-wheel steering system, specifically re-tuned for the Taycan GTS to reflect a more focused handling model.

This sporty variant charges up to an impressive 440kW (598 PS) of overboost power and a maximum torque of 850 Nm when Launch Control is activated. In normal operation, a handy power output of up to 380 kW (517 PS) is also available, with a top speed of up to 250km/h thanks to a particularly efficient drive strategy.

Sporty yet practical, the Taycan GTS variant delivers an exceptional drive, making it the dynamic all-rounder in the Taycan range.

Porsche highlights at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show 2022

The Porsche booth at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show 2022 features nine exciting models, including the new 911 GTS and Cayenne Coupe with Lightweight Package.

The 911 GTS reflects the same sporty yet elegant persona reflected in the all-new Taycan GTS, but delivers even more emotion in the shape of the iconic 911. More powerful and visually distinctive, the 911 GTS also integrates better driving dynamics than ever before.

The understated looks of the new 911 GTS model range feature black contrasting bodywork elements and darkened headlight areas. Inside, ample use of black Race-tex fabric with contrast stitching and standard Sports Seats Plus with strong lateral support lend an ambience of true purposefulness.

A new flat-six engine delivers 353 kW (480 PS) on the new 911 GTS range, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 3.4 seconds when paired to a new 8-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK). A seven-speed manual gearbox, with a specifically-calibrated short-shifting action, is also available for all 911 GTS models as an alternative to the PDK.

On the handling front, the 911 GTS distinguishes itself with a chassis derived from the 911 Turbo, and bespoke suspension tuning with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard. High-performance brakes from the 911 Turbo and black centre-lock wheels in 20- and 21-inch diameters further heighten performance and visual appeal.

Finally, a specific GTS sports exhaust, together with selective omission of interior noise insulation, provides a more visceral driving experience.

The Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe possesses an unrivalled elegance with practicality, as the sportiest SUV in its segment with a totally unique rear section. With sharper lines and an electronically-actuated adaptive rear spoiler, the Cayenne Coupe clearly differentiates itself from its regular three-boxed sibling, outlining a silhouette of unmatched dynamism.

Inside, a unique rear bench with the characteristics of two individual seats, and two different roof concepts - a panoramic fixed glass roof and an optional carbon roof - add a sensation of sportiness unique to the model. The show car at the Porsche stand features a Lightweight Sports Package, which complements the Sport Chrono Package to improve the standard 0-100km/h sprint of the Cayenne Coupe to just 5.1 seconds.
