Thailand's TGO Authority Certifies Royal Phuket Marina as the Country's Leading Sustainable Marina

Royal Phuket Marina (RPM) is now Thailand's leading sustainable marina after being certified by Thailand's TGO Authority as an official Carbon Footprint Organization (CFO). RPM is making formidable strides to become the world's first carbon-neutral marina, a commitment that involves significant emissions reduction and further carbon offsetting.

Royal Phuket Marina is now Thailand's Only Marina and Phuket's Only Hospitality and Real Estate Developer Company, certified by the prestigious Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) certification. The CFO certification is granted by the Thai government's Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) and is provided only after a thorough measurement of the organization's carbon footprint. The verification process for the certificate is carried out by eligible legal entities conforming to the International Accreditation Forum and the Thai National accreditation body, the National Standardization Council of Thailand.

Mr. Gulu Lalvani, Chairman of Royal Phuket Marina, emphasized, "The highly-regarded CFO certification validates RPM's unwavering dedication to sustainability, resonating throughout every aspect of our operations. Royal Phuket Marina continues to stand as a sustainability beacon for Thailand's boating and marina industry.

We are delighted to receive official government recognition as Thailand's only marina and Phuket's only hospitality and real estate developer company that is CFO-certified. Our goal is to remain Asia's foremost sustainable yachting paradise, and lead the way in becoming the world's first carbon-neutral marina.

We are Thailand's leading destination for living, working, celebrating, and embracing the beauty of the marina lifestyle, and continue to upgrade all of our boating, residential and commercial facilities. We have recently also been nominated by the Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce (NTCC) for one of their prestigious ESG awards because of our unique sustainability initiatives throughout our business divisions."

Additionally, Mr Lalvani will be a distinguished speaker, representing Thailand's marina industry, at the 1st Andaman Sustainable Tourism Forum, where Mr Lalvani will share his vision on "Phuket's Strategy Towards Becoming a Sustainable Tourism City of Andaman".

One of the company's most noteworthy accomplishments is its transition to solar energy. Earlier this year, RPM received a Letter of Recognition (LOR) under the Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS) in partnership with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) for its successful implementation of solar productivity measures. The marina now generates up to 40% of its daily energy needs through clean, sustainable solar power, and will further increase its solar productivity to reach its ambitious goals.

RPM and its boating partners also aim to reduce and eventually eliminate all single-use plastic bottles handed out on boating excursions and charters, contributing to a reduction of approximately 4 million plastic bottles annually.

Additionally, RPM has formed sustainable partnerships through community engagement and collaborates with notable organizations such as the International SeaKeepers Society, Oceans For All Foundation, License to Clean, Wawa Creations, and Disabled Sailing Thailand.

Sustainability remains ingrained in RPM's core values. Royal Phuket Marina continues to pioneer environmental responsibility within the marina industry and within Phuket.
