Mr. Chakkit Chatupanyachotikul, Head of Marketing, Public Relations & CSV at Central Food Retail under Central Retail, remarked, "Tops recognises the importance of fostering sustainability in business operations, both environmentally and socially, through the 'Small Acts Together' initiative, reinforcing the 'Discover HAPPINESS' philosophy for sustainable co-creation. This includes managing food surplus and reducing food waste, which are by-products of our business activities, to minimise our environmental and societal footprint. Tops aspires to be the first Green & Sustainable Retail pioneer in Thailand, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people, communities, and the environment in a sustainable manner."

The AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact - Platinum Recognition, organised by The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM), reflects excellence in sustainable practices, particularly in the responsible use of natural resources and minimising environmental impact in business operations. It has gained international recognition and acceptance from various organisations.

Currently, Tops collaborates with like-minded partners to drive sustainable change by tackling food surplus and reducing food waste under the Discover HAPPINESS initiative. This includes various innovative projects such as the 'Food For Good Deed' programme, distributing quality surplus food items, including vegetables, fruits, and bakery products, to communities in need. Tops also partners with the Yindii food surplus app to sell 'Surprise Bags' of discounted surplus food, supporting the efficient use of resources throughout the supply chain. Additionally, Tops supports the 'Jai Kla' startup in transforming surplus food into insect protein-based pet treats, promoting resource efficiency. Tops has also joined forces with expert partners in food surplus management, including SOS Thailand, VV Share, and Care and Share Food for All, to successfully distribute surplus food to those in need nationwide since 2022, with over 5 million meals served.

"We are truly honoured and proud to receive the AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact - Platinum Recognition. This award is another testament to Tops' outstanding commitment to sustainable practices, driven by the dedication to create shared value among our business partners, customers, and key stakeholders. We firmly believe that collective small acts, when combined, can generate significant power for positive change, leading to a better world and a sustainable future for generations to come," concluded Mr. Chakkit.
