Tawatchai Sakdikul, an architect, designer, and founder of GingGaanBai revealed, "For over 10 years, we have been growing steadily. Currently, we have designed 2,044 gardens, each with a hidden object or item for the owners to use in the garden based on their lifestyles, and each garden involves more than 80 individuals in the creative process to meet the highest requirements. In the past four years, during the COVID-19 crisis, which has affected the lifestyles, people have been influenced to be more concerned about their health and spend more time on their gardens. This aligns with the vision of GingGaanBai, which is dedicated to creating gardens that meet the highest requirements. We are proud to be selected as one of the seven gardens chosen globally in the urban garden category, reaching people and inspiring visitors at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021. It took us more than 5 years to create our portfolio, allowing us to experience and get to know talented garden designers on an international level."
Therefore, the idea of organizing the event "Ripple Retreat: The Garden Runway" was born, marking another significant step for GingGaanBai. It is the first time the show is presented in a runway format, showcasing the trend of urban home gardening in the Urban Living style for 2024. In the Ripple Retreat concept - a pause to connect with nature, the event is intended to bring everyone into the world of nature in the heart of the city. GinGaanBai aims to emphasize our gardening style that focuses on designing to align with the residents' lifestyles. The event also aims to allow everyone to learn about managing the space within the garden, and the designs that reflect the unique identity of each person's home garden.
Ploytabtim Suksang, an architect, designer, and co-founder of GinGaanBai, added that this show has presented the Urban Living Gardening Trend for 2024, which brings a sense of freshness. The focus is on the "Citrus Fruits" like Kumquat, lemon Buddha's Hand, Seville Orange, Orange Jasmine and various other plant species, totaling over 1,200 plants. These include green, yellow, orange, red, and pink colors, such as Thai blueberries, camellias, pinto beans, golden pendas, weeping lantana, bottle brush trees, cranberry hibiscus, marguerite daisy, and more. We wish to reflect that the green space within the home provides a refreshing mood, where everyone can release stress from any factors and take time to befriend with themselves, be with nature, and spend quality time together with family and friends.
The design incorporates six functions that cater to different aspects of lifestyle, providing solutions for daily living. They are: Meditation Pergola: A tranquil space suitable for meditation and quiet relaxation. Living Patio: An outdoor sitting area ideal for reading and leisure. Patio: A spacious garden area capable of accommodating various activities. Swing Corner: A chill-out zone with swings for relaxed seating. Plunge Pool: A favorite spot for those who love exercising or want to refresh their bodies. Dining Area: An open-air dining zone for party enthusiasts
