Mr. Chana Sumpalung, the President of ASA, discussed the preparation and highlights of Architect'24 which is going to be ASEAN's Largest Building Technology Exposition. The Expo will be held between 30 April and 5 May 2024 at the IMPACT Challenger Building, Muang Thong Thani, under the concept "Collective Language: Sensing Architecture". The goal is to connect people around the world through sensing architecture works and designs without border in a similar manner to other forms of communication, languages, arts and culture. This is in line with the spirit of ASA to bring forward movement for better future throughout the 90 years of its establishment.

The main exhibition, "Collective Language: Sensing Architecture", will showcase architectural works from 12 leading architects in Asia. The curators have chosen works that deconstruct and reveal the essential characters of Asian architecture and asked critical questions about other languages in architecture that will become a common language in the future. In addition, the works selected by the 22 member institutes of the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA), will be exhibited to form a cluster of languages that communicate the future direction of the region.

"ASA All Member: Collective Practices" is a collection of works from members of ASA, Thailand Interior Designers' Association (TIDA), Thai Association of Landscape Architects (TALA), and Thai Urban Designers Association (TUDA). It shows the organizational culture, processes and inspiration behind the designs and creativity of architectural works. To celebrate the 90th anniversary of ASA, visitors are invited to sense, reflect, build upon and ask questions about the future roles of architects together.

The Collective Experience is a continuation from the Human Library, which was part of Architect'23 held last year. The emphasis is on sensory intimacy in which the exhibitors both Thais and foreigners will share their knowledge, experiences and stories with the audiences through different methods to create common understandings and shared ideas that transcend races and languages. There will also be exhibitions from partner associations: TIDA, TALA and TUDA as well.

The academic exhibition will display results of the ASA Experimental Design Competition. The international competition is open for ASA members, university students and general public to submit their creative works without the limits of scale and size. The topic for this year is sensing Bangkok to find the unique but common feelings of people and their senses in this vibrant and lively city. These will be joined with the ASA Conservation Building Awards, ASA Architectural Design Award 2024, VERNADOC Exhibition, and exhibition of student works and projects.

Mr. Chutayaves Sinthuphan, the chairperson of Artchitect'24, added that Artchitect'24 will not only feature highlight exhibitions but also has facilities and other interesting activities in different zones. Key areas and services include: ASA Club, a meeting and resting space for ASA members; ASA Night 2024, a yearly gathering based on our long-lasting tradition at ASA; Architect Volunteers who offer consulting services in architecture; ACT+ ASA Shop selling books and souvenirs of ASA and the Architect Council of Thailand; and, ASA Book Shop where you can find books from other education institutes and architecture organizations.

The Expo will also have an activity zone for outstanding academic seminars. The ASA International Forum 2024 aims to stimulate knowledge sharing on design, technical information and professional practices by top international designers and experts under the theme 'Collective Language: Critical Regionalism in Architecture'. The forum allows the audiences to pre-register and join the seminar on site. The Professional Seminar 2024 will host leading Thai experts in various fields and provide useful information and current issues in the architectural profession.

Finally, we would like to invite you to be part of sensing architecture by communicating, sharing, and forwarding the information. Architect'24 will be held between 30 April and 5 May 2024 at the IMPACT Challenger Building, Muang Thong Thani. Please follow information and new updates on www.facebook.com/ASAArchitectExpo
