depa is aggressively boosting Thailand's digital startup scene by actively promoting three high potential projects. Expected to generate over 25 million baht in economic impact, these initiatives are set to drive innovation, create jobs, and lower business costs.
depa Continues to Strengthen Thai Digital Startup Potential

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), revealed that depa is elevating Thai digital startups, promoting growth through knowledge and skill enhancement projects, alongside digital ecosystem development. depa provides opportunities for business matching with entrepreneurs, farmers, and communities seeking digital solutions to develop their businesses or lives. These efforts aim to boost efficiency and solve problems while also supporting digital startups to be ready for the global market. Currently, depa has elevated over 165 Thai digital startups, with plans to promote over 20 more in 2024.

Most recently, at meeting of the depa Subcommittee on Promotion and Support, approved proposals for projects that applied for promotion under the scheme of depa Digital Startup Fund (Early Stage), totaling 3 projects with an investment value of 3 million baht. These projects include:

  • Pettinee Televets: A platform providing remote veterinary consultation and comprehensive pet healthcare services by Pettinee Corporation , Ltd..
  • ThaiMarket: A platform connecting traders, market vendors, and market owners by Sawasdee Thai Market , Ltd..
  • Lightster: A platform for product testing and user feedback for technology companies by Pativet Sathiensamrit.

"For all 3 digital startups that received approval, they offer digital services meeting the public's needs and have the potential for global growth in the future. Additionally, it is assessed that these three digital startups can create an economic impact of more than 25 million baht, not only by advancing services through digital technology but also by enhancing employee skills, stimulating job creation, and contributing to income generation for SMEs entrepreneurs who utilize services from these three digital startups." stated depa's President/CEO.

Furthermore, the meeting also approved the Unmanned Aircraft System Standard Testing Center project by the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. This project applied for promotion under the scheme of the depa Digital Infrastructure Fund. The objective of this project is to develop infrastructure for the development of unmanned aerial vehicle (Drone) industries and innovations, covering an area of over 800 square meters in the Lower Northeastern Science Park (Nakhon Ratchasima). It includes Indoor labs and Flight-testing areas, serving the testing and validation needs of manufacturers to enhance competitiveness in the future.
