Mrs. Gloyta emphasized that as the world transitions to a low-carbon economy, global environmental regulations, such as the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), offer not only challenges but also significant opportunities for Thai SMEs. With buyers in Europe and other developed markets increasingly prioritizing carbon transparency and sustainability practices, agile SMEs are well-positioned to compete. Their lower operating costs, faster adaptability, and ability to align with buyers' ESG expectations give them a distinct advantage. Furthermore, SMEs that take early action can access green financing opportunities, including low-interest loans, research funding in partnership with academic institutions or government agencies, and support from international development organizations for the green transition. By beginning to track emissions and set carbon reduction targets today, SMEs can do more than survive—they can use sustainability as a springboard to enter new markets and attract capital.
The Climate Change Institute (CCI), under the Federation of Thai Industries, offers a range of services to help SMEs transition toward Net Zero. Registered with the Office of Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion (OSMEP) through the Business Development Service (BDS) program, CCI provides consultancy on carbon footprint assessments and verifications for both products and organizations. It also curates the CCI Library, a digital knowledge hub designed to support businesses in adapting to a low-carbon economy. The library covers key topics such as carbon footprint methodologies, the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and practical strategies for achieving Net Zero—empowering SMEs to learn, adapt, and move forward with confidence
Moreover, Mrs. Ninthira Abhising, Board of Committee and Secretary of the Climate Change Institute (CCI), participated as a panelist in the session "Greener SME Handbook for Sustainable Development Towards a Green Economy." Alongside the session, CCI's consulting team hosted a clinic offering practical guidance on carbon footprint calculations, focusing on CFO (Carbon Footprint for Organization) and CFP (Carbon Footprint for Product). The clinic aimed to help entrepreneurs understand the underlying principles, methodologies, and environmental impacts relevant to their industries, especially SMEs seeking to embark on their sustainability journey with confidence.
In addition, BSGF Company Limited showcased Bangchak Group's climate action efforts through the "Fry to Fly" project, an initiative that transforms used cooking oil into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The project not only reduces carbon emissions but also empowers communities and SMEs to actively participate in waste management, generate additional income, and become part of a tangible circular and low-carbon economy. This initiative attracted strong interest from visitors throughout the two-day event.
EARTH JUMP 2025, organized by Kasikornbank and the Thailand Climate Business Network (Thai CBN), served as a platform for connecting global knowledge and offering fresh perspectives to Thai businesses navigating environmental, political, and economic challenges. Held on May 28-29, the forum featured over 50 prominent speakers from Thailand and around the world who shared their insights and experiences across multiple stages, helping to shape the path toward a sustainable future. Bangchak is also a member of Thai CBN, a private-sector alliance committed to driving climate action and supporting businesses in transitioning toward a green economy through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic engagement
