B24 is an environmentally friendly fuel alternative that can be used in ocean-going vessels without requiring engine modification. It also delivers a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Earlier this year, BSRC successfully delivered Thailand's first commercial lot of B24 Marine Biofuel to NYK Trading Corporation (Japan), a leading maritime company, at Laem Chabang Port in Chonburi Province. The demand for B24 continues to grow steadily across the marine transport sector.
"The launch of B24 not only reflects Thailand's energy innovation capability" said Dr. Bowornsak during the event, "but also marks a crucial step in positioning the country as a sustainable maritime logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific region".
This success reinforces BSRC's vision to lead in clean energy innovation, while supporting the sustainable growth of the shipping industry amid the global transition to low-carbon energy.
