PRO-Thailand Network Donates Reflective Vests Made from PET Bottles to Bangkok Cleaning Staff

The PRO-Thailand Network has donated 500 eco-friendly, reflective safety vests to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) for its field officers. The vests were presented to Governor Chadchart Sittipunt (4th from left) in a ceremony at the Rattanakosin Room, Bangkok City Hall, Phra Nakhon District. Each vest is made from post-consumer PET plastic bottles. Through a specialised recycling process, the plastic is melted and transformed into polyester fibres. The fabric for a single high-visibility vest incorporates material from 11 recycled 600cc PET bottles. The final product is tailored to meet the stringent EN-20471 safety standard. This donation marks the pilot launch of a new model for sustainable uniforms, aimed initially at Bangkok's cleaning personnel, which enhances both worker safety and environmental sustainability.
