Building on eight years of community development, the center applies science and chemistry to improve natural dyeing techniques, enhance product quality, and increase market value. Under the Ingthara Model, locally crafted natural-dyed textiles have reached international markets, including MUJI's Ginza store in Japan, demonstrating how local knowledge and natural resources can create global opportunities.
Over seven months, the project developed learning facilities, a Learning Innovation Platform, and three knowledge packages under the "Learn & Earn" concept, combining practical learning with income generation. More than 200 participants have benefited from hands-on training, while the project has nurtured new community innovators and trainers and established over 30 natural dye collaboration networks at provincial and regional levels. These efforts help local residents develop vocational skills and create income opportunities. Moving forward, the University of Phayao plans to expand the Ingthara Model to other distinctive local products, strengthening community livelihoods and promoting sustainable economic growth.
