S-26 Progress GOLD, a premium milk formula for children aged 1 year old and above, has launched a campaign “Let child learn everything around him…and go Change the World” to inspire modern parents to let their children learn from the surroundings, new approach that is against conventional belief and offers a new perspective of how a smart child can be raised. The campaign is symbolized by nine iconic people from different backgrounds who are revolutionaries in their own world.

Rachada Apiromdej, Marketing Director, Wyeth Nutrition, the manufacturer of S-26 Progress GOLD, as a pioneer and expert in pediatric nutrition for almost a century, said, “We are committed to help our children learn to be ahead of the changing world. We also want to encourage modern parents to see in a different light that letting children learn and explore freely from everything around them is a way to prompt their development and prepare them to cope with the fast-paced changing world.”

“Amidst the establishment of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) this year, our society has become borderless. It is a great challenge for the new generation to adapt and thrive over the edge of fast-changing interconnected communities. They are expected to be even more competent and well-adjusted in the increasingly competitive and disruptive environments. S-26 Progress GOLD realized the challenge of fundamental development of children that modern-day parents are facing which results in this campaign of inspiration.”

According to Dr. Kesinee Ovasith, Pediatrician specialized in child development and behavior, Samitivej International Children's Hospital, “There are more contemporary ways for parenting that suit today’s world, adopted by many developed countries such as UK, USA and Japan. Parents in these countries tend to raise their 1-3-year-old children in a new way. Parents will change their roles from commanders into supporters watching their children closely as they choose what to do and advise them when things are going the wrong way. Allowing your children to learn and think by themselves, and explore what they are really interested in, will be good for their brain. A research found that the more children think and learn, the better their brain cells connect and develop, creating more numerous and complex networks in the brain that promote learning.”

“Letting your children play freely is another way to learn and improve their brain development. As they play within their surroundings, their body, thoughts, emotion, creativity and social skills improve. This is of course not by you pointing fingers and telling them what to do, but by allowing your little ones to explore and try things on their own will. Whatever they play with is an important start to their long term development,” Dr. Kesinee added.

Apart from launching new television commercial ‘I Am’ in January this year which encourages parents to support and let their children learn from everything around them, S-26 Progress GOLD reinforces the same message to parents through Inspiring Icon Booklet “Let child learn everything around him…and go Change the World” and a series of activities throughout the year. The Inspiring Icon Booklet compiles stories behind the success of nine iconic people, their childhood upbringing, and how they are enabled to change their world by the support of their parents.

Those enlisted to inspire modern-day parents are namely Yutthana Boonaom or “Pa Ted”, hipsters’ ring leader who inspires music-loving youngsters to pursue their passion and created music festivals that Thailand never experienced before; Sarawut Hengsawadi known by his penname Roundfinger, a famous writer who inspires Thai people to love reading once again; Mollika Ruengkritiya, a fashion designer and founder of Kloset brand and who has taken Thai fashion to the international arena; Bundit Ungrangsee, an international symphonic conductor who inspires Thai people to develop to their full potential; Dr. Kongphop Yuyen, the youngest and first Thai engineer at NASA who inspires Thai children to love science and space; Phongraphee Thechphahaphong or “Pooyai Big”, an expert on bilingual ability in children; Dr. Nisara Garunuthaisiri, young scientist with internationally recognized contributions; Vithitnun Rojanaphanij, an explorer who overcame his own limit by putting a Thai flag on top of Mount Everest; and Dr. Annie Lertassamongkol (Sapsermsri), former actress, dedicating mom and certified instructor on baby language.
