The meeting of SET members elects 2 members of the Board of Governors

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), at the extraordinary meeting of its broker members No.1/2021 held today, announces the election of Pichet Sithi-Amnuai and Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn as members of the SET's Board of Governors (BoG), who will have a three-year tenure, effective from February 5, 2021 to February 4, 2024.

The Securities and Exchange Act (No. 6) B.E. 2562 (A.D. 2019) prescribed the transitional provision regarding the retirement from a position of the SET's BoG by stating that, after the lapse of 1 year and 6 months from the effective date of forming the new BoG pursuant to the Act, a half of those appointed by the Securities and Exchange Commission and those elected by the broker members shall be retired from their positions by drawing lots, and it shall be deemed a retirement by rotation. Consequently, two governors elected by the broker members, namely Pattera Dilokrungthirapop and Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, will be due to retire by rotation on February 4, 2021.

The Extraordinary Meeting of Members No.1/2021, held on January 25, 2021 resolved to reelect Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, Chief Executive Officer, TISCO Securities Co., Ltd. as a governor of SET for another term, and elect Pichet Sithi-Amnuai, President, Bualuang Securities PCL as a new governor of SET to replace the one who will retire. The newly elected governors will have a term of three years, effective from February 5, 2021 to February 4, 2024.

The SET's BoG, who will perform duty from February 5, 2021 onward, consists of 11 members as follows (ranking by Thai alphabetical order):

  5. Pichet Sithi-Amnuai
  6. Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn

  10. Anuchit Anuchitanukul
  11. Pakorn Peetathawatchai (President)

The SET's BoG will convene a meeting to elect its chairman accordingly.
