Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL) revealed its JPC/MNC Banking business strategy. The Bank will continue to be the first call business partner by having resilience for business, providing total value-added financial solutions, and transforming operation model to continually support customers' sustainable growth under the new normal way of life. With Krungsri's new Medium-Term Business Plan 2021 - 2023, the Bank will focus on enhancing efficiency in carrying out the JPC/MNC banking business and expanding its business to the ASEAN region, as well as leveraging Krungsri's strengths and MUFG global network, to strongly support Japanese corporate and multinational corporate customers in capturing more business opportunities in Thailand and ASEAN.

Mr. Yoshiyuki Horio, Krungsri Head of Japanese Corporate and Multinational Banking (JPC/MNC Banking), said "During COVID-19 pandemic, Krungsri JPC/MNC Banking has provided assistance through different measures such as additional credit facilities to support customers' working capital and liquidity, providing market and industry outlooks through online seminars, and creating new business opportunities for our business customers through business matching activities. In 2020, Krungsri JPC/MNC Banking has reaffirmed the top position with deposit balance at 61% market share or growth of 27% compared to last year and loan balance at 42% market share in the Japanese corporate market."

"With an aim to continue to be the 'first call business partner' for our customers in expanding their business opportunities and supporting sustainable growth under the 'new normal' era, this year, Krungsri JPC/MNC Banking has unveiled its Medium-Term Business Plan 2021 - 2023 with two key focal themes on JPC/MNC banking business enhancement and ASEAN expansion. We have set up more flexible strategies for each customer, based on more precise understanding of their business, together with total financial solutions that combined all functions and capabilities of Krungsri and MUFG, and JPC/MNC Banking's operation platform transformation to further improve overall efficiency. In addition, we will continuously enhance our business capability by strengthening our relationship with customers, improving the advisory function in order to respond to various customer needs, and expanding business areas in response to changes in customers' supply chain and new investment. This year, we will focus on non - interest income such as transaction banking products, foreign exchange and derivative products and non-life insurance, while loan balance is targeted at 2.5% growth comparing to last year." Mr. Horio said

"Due to the change in supply chain of Japanese corporates from USA-China trade war and COVID-19 pandemic, some Japanese companies have moved the production base from China to Japan and ASEAN countries, including Thailand, especially the investment in EEC. Therefore, there will be opportunities for Japanese corporate and multinational corporate customers to expand business in EEC where we established Krungsri EEC offices in Sri Racha and the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong) last year in order to increase customer touch points and support customers' new business opportunities. The focused industry will be automotive, electronics, trading, and finance.

In addition, we continue providing business opportunities to Japanese corporate and multinational corporate customers via the value-added services, such as information sharing through Krungsri Business Virtual Seminar, business matching through Krungsri Virtual Business Matching 2021 and Krungsri-MUFG Virtual Business Matching 2021 between Japanese corporate/Multinational corporate customers and Corporate/SME customers. All of these activities are aimed to help customers expand their business under MUFG network." Mr. Horio added.
