FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world's largest express transportation companies, announced it is working with Allianz Ayudhya to transport medical supplies to 40 hospitals across remote areas in 17 border provinces of Thailand. As part of the "Send Shields to Remote Doctors" campaign, this humanitarian relief effort supports the fight against COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand.

In total, over 2,580 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) and over 1,640 N95 masks have been successfully delivered to front-line medical professionals in 40 hospitals. The medical supplies were delivered in two batches by FedEx. The first batch was delivered to 13 hospitals in May, followed by the second and third batches to another 27 hospitals in June.

This is the second time FedEx is collaborating with Allianz Ayudhya. As the proprietor of the campaign, Allianz Ayudhya donated one million baht in medical supplies, which were delivered to the hospitals in remote areas in the first batch. The second batch followed a fund-raising campaign that generated an additional one million baht in public donations. "Send Shields to Remote Doctors" is a continuous effort by both FedEx Express and Allianz Ayudhya to equip medical workers with protective gear since June 2020.

"In the face of the devastating crisis in Thailand, FedEx is proud to use our extensive network and assist in the delivery of medical supplies to the healthcare professionals. We are here to ensure that communities, especially those in remote areas, receive the support they need," said Tien-Long Woon, Managing Director, FedEx Express Thailand.

"At Allianz Ayudhya, we are committed to supporting our local communities. We are very thankful to our employees, customers and individuals who made donations to the campaign. We are also very grateful for the continuous logistics support by FedEx in delivering medical supplies to these final destinations in good condition and on schedule," said Thomas Wilson, President and CEO, Allianz Ayudhya Assurance PCL.
