Supersports, under Central Retail, Thailand's No. 1 sporting goods retailer, recently expanded its online distribution channel by launching Thailand's first virtual store offering an unrivaled range of apparel and sporting equipment. The move is a response to a retail world without borders or limits, recognizing consumer behaviors in online shopping, especially from 6 PM to midnight, when customer numbers surge.

Supersports and AIS 5G have jointly developed "Supersports V-Store," a sporting goods store located in AIS 5G's virtual V-AVENUE.CO shopping mall. The two-floor virtual "Supersports V-Store" showcases the best of Supersports brands and offers more than 13 categories of sporting products, including running footwear and apparel, football, exercise, swimming, cycling, golf, and outdoor activities from top-notch brands such as Nike, Adidas, FILA, New Balance, Skechers, Crocs, Speedo, Umbro, K-Swiss, Ellesse, Titleist, Puma and Under Armour. The store creates a virtual shopping experience that rivals being in-store.

At Supersports V-Store, customers can enjoy the authenticity of shopping in a physical retail store. Supersports set up a prototype virtual shop using the space design of its Supersports stores located at Rama II, Phuket and Sriracha, with a design that recreates the atmosphere, experience, and convenience of physical stores to deliver the most enjoyable online shopping experience possible.

This expansion into the virtual world underscores how Supersports prioritizes using technology to drive its retail business without limits, empowering its virtual store to provide an additional and unique shopping experience which is meant to enhance online shopping at the Supersports website. In fact, Supersports is responding directly to customer behavior and an increased interest in and growing appetite for online shopping.It is also addressing those who are unable to visit a store but still want to enjoy a similar shopping experience.

Surges in online purchases take place every day between 6:00 pm and midnight. Data on shopping behavior among Supersports customers found that the proportion of consumers buying sporting equipment after 6:00 PM via online channels accounted for one-third of total sales. In 2020, the 6:00 PM to midnight period accounted for 33.5% of online sales, growing further into 2021 and accounting for 37.8%.
