Bangkok Bank has supported Google Pay for Visa or Mastercard credit cardholders. Cardholders can now make secure contactless payments with Android smartphones via Google Wallet without having to carry cards or hand over cards to cashiers or service staff.

Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President and Credit Card Division Manager Shoke Na Ranong said Bangkok Bank is excited to support the launch of Google Wallet for Bangkok Bank Visa or Mastercard credit cardholders. The cardholders add their cards to Google Wallet on their Android smartphone to make contactless payments at merchants accepting Visa or Mastercard credit cards instead of making payments with physical credit cards. The service will be available from today (November 15, 2022) onwards.

Google Pay is another service that allows customers to make easy payments as they don't have to carry physical credit cards or cash. Customers can simply tap their smartphone at contactless readers to make payments for goods and services quickly and securely, as they can make payments themselves without having to hand over credit cards to cashiers or service staff.

"This service is another technology that meets needs of our customer's lifestyles, especially the young generation who prefer convenience and are familiar with using technology to manage their daily life, including paying for goods and services with a digital wallet. With Google Wallet they don't have to carry cash, wallets, or physical cards. This also helps drive Thailand towards a Cashless Society", said Mr. Shoke.

Bangkok Bank credit cardholders who are interested in the Google Pay must have a smartphone with Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. Customers can simply link their Bangkok Bank Visa or Mastercard credit card with the Google Wallet application and begin making payments for goods or services at merchants accepting Visa or Mastercard credit cards which have contactless readers compatible with contactless cards. Customers can open their Google Wallet application and select the card they want, then tap their smartphone to a contactless reader to make the payment instantly.

Interested customers can download the Google Wallet application on the Play Store or call Bualuang Phone at 1333 or 0 2645 5555 to ask for more information.
