PTTEP Ocean Data Platform also shows microplastics level and is designed to monitor and identify aquatic species around the jackets of petroleum platforms to preserve biodiversity abundance. The platform also incorporates information of PTTEP's ongoing projects aimed at supporting the livelihoods of coastal communities. The available ocean science data can serve as key inputs to support marine science education and research in Thailand, and to enhance the effectiveness of ocean conservation and restoration plan. That includes the enhancement of ocean mathematical models to predict marine debris dispersion, ocean current patterns affecting coral breaching and recovery, impacts of global warming and potential impacts to the ecosystem.
PTTEP Ocean Data Platform development is also in line with Sustainable Development Goal 14 of The United Nations: Life Below Water, to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainability. PTTEP Ocean Data Platform website is now available at oceandata.pttep.com.
